Hi, I’m Lisa. I was born and raised in the Turks & Caicos Islands. I have always loved photography, ever since I was a little girl and I used to help my father in the family darkroom. It must have made a lasting impression on me, because I never put the camera down.

I went to university at the Rochester Institute of Technology, or RIT, in Rochester, NY. It was cold up there, but so worth it. In addition to taking classes ranging from food photography to nature photography, I became a certified PADI Digital Underwater Photographer and interned at Victoria’s Secret in Manhattan, working in the prepress department - my love for Photoshop retouching was born!

Needless to say, my 4 years there flew by and before I knew it I was graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Professional Photographic Illustration. I worked in Rochester, NY for a year, doing professional retouching for Pictometry International Corp. The work I did there taught me so much, but alas, cubicle life was not for me.

I moved back to the Turks & Caicos at the beginning of 2014 to go to work for the family magazine, Where When How, doing all the photography and retouching. I really love my job here and I am happy to be home again. It is never difficult to find inspiration and photograph something beautiful. I am inspired by light and the way it falls to earth and being here again has begun, what I suspect to be, a lasting love affair with dramatic clouds.
